This module aims to help students differentiate security responsibilities according to the AWS shared responsibility model. In addition, describe the security pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, understand Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) alignment, and use it as a standards-based approach to security controls. Students will also identify organizational challenges and threats and describe a standards-based approach to best practices. This module takes 45 minutes to complete.

This module aims to help students implement network security by controlling traffic at all layers and automating network protection. You will also select AWS services to secure network traffic and combat common security threats. Students will also understand the benefits of third-party solutions offered through AWS Marketplace. This module takes 45 minutes to complete.

In this lab, students secure a three-security zone network infrastructure and monitor the traffic to verify only the required traffic is allowed. This lab takes 45 minutes to complete.

This module aims to help students describe common compute security vulnerabilities. Based on industry best practices, you will also construct a secure Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance. In addition, you will use Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) encryption to secure volume data. Students will also perform vulnerability management. This module takes 50 minutes to complete.

This section provides an overview of this course's first lab. In this lab, students will create a custom Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that contains various configuration changes with custom user data scripts. Students will also set up instance patching and encryption to protect data at rest. This lab takes 60 minutes to complete.
